This is a memorandum on Thailand to the Director of World Bank South East Asian Section. Standing at the heart of mainland South East Asia, Thailand's population of 61.2 million (as of 2001) is relatively homogenous; historically, no major regional, ethnic, or religious rifts have threatened national cohesiveness.
