This paper discusses the etiology of cannabis use, in terms of the likely causes and correlates of the use of this drug. The paper also looks at the genetic, social, cultural, behavioural, neurobiological and environmental factors involved in cannabis use. The paper begins with a short survey of cannabis users, and research conducted on use of cannabis amongst adolescents.
