This paper discusses guns, children and censorship. In this day and age it seems as though the frequency of gun use in crimes is rising, especially taking into account the school shootings of late. With this increased rate come more and more people standing behind the view of increased gun control via laws and other regulations. But is gun control the best answer to this fatal puzzle? Benjamin Spock clearly illustrates his opinion: he disapproves of children playing with "war-promoting" toys. But these "war-promoting" toys have been around for decades for good reason. Over the past century, during World War II, Vietnam, and the Gulfs, "guns" have become a part of our culture. It's not surprising, then, that it has become increasingly more popular for boys to play with toy guns.
