This paper is about democracy in the classroom, and how it is possible to create an atmosphere of democracy in a community of diverse students and faculty. It reviews four important works on the subject (by L. Delpit, T. Sergivanni, S. Nieto, and M. Gadotti) and draws conclusions based on these books as to what democracy in the classroom requires as far as institutional and individual change. 6 pgs. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
