Mill's Utilitarianism: An Objective Analysis of Merits and Flaws
This four page undergraduate paper examines objections to Utilitarianism. It must be noted that in the broadest sense, critics have claimed that Utilitarianism is too demanding and that there are agent-centered restraints on our actions that cannot be violated for the sake of maximizing the good. Because of these primary objections, as well as numerous but less fundamental concerns, Utilitarianism has been under attack ever since its initial inception in the eighteenth-century.
