Parmenides Notion of the 'Way of Truth' and the 'Way of Opinion'.
This paper will argue that although there is a contradiction in 'writing' his poem, because it is connected to the realm of the senses, the 'medium' itself of poetry is his way of maintaining consistency. In other words, Parmenides is not attempting a literal articulation of his ideas, and as such, the fact that this is a poem with metaphor and allegory, suggests that what he is pointing to is 'beyond' the literal expression of this text. 5.5 pgs. 5 f/c. 2b.
