Bush v. Gore: A Supreme Court Power Play, or a Bold Decision to Save the Democratic Process
In this paper we will discuss the Bush v. Gore Supreme Court Case and try to understand if it was a power play on the part of the Supreme Court or if it was a bold decision with the intention to save the Democratic process. Perhaps no event better illustrates the power of the United States Supreme Court than the resolution of the 2000 presidential election. In the separation of powers war, this was a key battle one that almost seem settled once and for all which branch of government has the power. Legions of Court watchers, law professors, media commentators, and armchair legal analysts across the country thought the Court's willingness to step into the fray was a major misstep.
