Neo-Modernism and its Contribution to Social Stratification

Neo-modernism is an optimistic and hopeful belief that turning every society into a democratic society will improve world poverty and provide balance between world governments. It is an effort to equalize power, and hence move competition from the military arena to the global trade arena. Ironically, the pursuit of this form of equalization has created as much stratification between nations (and individuals) as the Cold War; and even though the goal of neo-modernism is to end all wars, democratization has led to increased military conflict. In another irony, this backlash is not the biggest failure of the democratic equalization policy. Incorporation of neo-modernist policy, a policy based on the successful economic results of democratization, has separated wealth even further between rich and poor.
